Bespoke Cuban Holidays for the Discerning Traveller

Young (or young at heart) and alternative? Wanting to see a snapshot of Cuban youth in all their diversity? Then this is the hang-out or wander-around place for you. Walk along busy Calle 23 in Vedado until you get to Avenido de los Presidentes (more commonly known as G), then turn left down the long, tree-lined avenue towards the sea, until Calle 15.

On your way you will find hundreds of peaceful, mainly young, people doing their very varied thing; from singing, snogging, chatting, playing guitar, to drinking, drumming and dancing. From hippy rockers, rappers and troubadours to gays, lesbians, new agers, fashion queens and those with no place else to go, Calle G is the most popular alternative hang-out place in Havana. Best at weekends (but its buzzing every night, from around 9pm until whenever people slowly slope home.
