Eco Tours & Eco Holidays in Cuba
See The Wildlife in Luxury with A Bespoke Holiday
Cuba is an inspiring place to visit if you are seeking to immerse yourself in nature and wildlife. The countryside is exceptionally unspoilt and supports an old-fashioned rural lifestyle that has been lost to the developed world. Whether you are interested in bird watching, trekking, horse riding or simply being in a beautiful landscape, there are numerous options we can help you to explore. Certain regions and hotels are better set up to support eco-tourism than others, and have been specifically designed for this purpose. Los Jasmines Hotel in the stunning Vinales Valley is a good example, as is La Moka hotel, also in Pinar Del Rio province, where the electricity comes from solar panels, the food from organic gardens and the setting is a 5000-hectare biosphere replete with rivers, waterfalls and eco trails.
Other exquisite national parks in Pinar Del Rio include the undeveloped Parque Nacional La Guira and the Sierra del Rosario biosphere. In the south, the Cienaga de Zapata national park is a mysterious untouched world of swamps, rivers and lagoons; and if its hills you seek, the Gran Parque Natural Topes de Collantes is a mountainous national park that straddles Cienfuegos, Villa Clara and Sancti Spiritus provinces, and is a world unto itself of flora and fauna and undiscovered nature trails. This is one of the most authentic and fulfilling ways to experience Cuba. They are hard to find, but Cuba also has a network of small, low-impact beach-hut resorts that offer a low-key antidote to the buzzing commercial resorts in the mainstream tourist area.
